AIR FLOW MEASURING VALVE
Principle of
Operation:
Air flow measuring
valve is a force balance control equipment. It controls
and identifies the proportional leak in terms of no. of
wagon under air leakage in the brake system. In normal
condition the input supply air controls the air passage
into the choke 'C' by a flapper and nozzel system, diaphragm
acting as flapper. Brake condition disturb the system
balance and creates a pressure differential between the
top and buttom of the diaphragm and clears an air passage
into 'C'. This air flow develop a pressure in the nozzel,
which is measured by the air flow indicating guage. The
reading is proportional to air leakage calibrated in terms
of no. of wagon, range of which is 0-100 wagon, equivalent
to 5 to 70 Psi.

QUICK COUPLING ARRANGEMENT
Principle of
Operation:
The
arrangement as shown acts as a self acuating coupler.
The valve is spring loaded and normally it keeps
the valve pressured against the seat, thus remains
closed when the pressure gauge pushed to the coupler
the valve remain pressed against spring thus opening
the seat & clears the air passage to pressure
gauge which will be in operation. Air passed stop
on removing the gauge.
